There was a girl who loved to run. She used to run like a beast. She was really fast. A good sprint runner. She had got many prizes. She used to practice a lot. That’s what made her a beast. She was proud of herself. No one was there to beat her. She was pretty famous. Everything was perfect and smooth until that day. One day, when she was in a local competition, she was pretty sure that she was going to win that race. People knew that. Still, they were cheering up. When everything was set up and she was ready to get into the race, another girl came and hold the other position beside her. They looked straight into their eyes like they were in a battle. Gunshot fired and it started. Participants were pushing themselves like they were pushing a heavy carriage. But, the crowd was not so energetic because an unusual thing was going on. That another girl was beating her ( the famous one). After some seconds, that famous girl was beaten by a strange girl. That strange girl simply went away with the prize and pride. And the famous one was trying to hold herself up because it was her first loss in a racing competition. It was like a Cheetah has been beaten up by a sheep.
Another race happened. Both were there. Again, stranger one outran the famous one. It happened for another 2 races. After all those losses, the famous one sat under a tree and started thinking. She visualized herself before the coming of that great competitor. She concluded that whatever she was before was the sheer product of her hard work. That practice. That moment she decided to do more practice than she used to do. She started. Again, another race happened. She lost. Another race, she lost. Meantime, the strange girl got a feeling of being better than her. She stopped putting much effort into her practice. But, famous girl metamorphosed herself into a diligent, industrious worker. She started working like hell. After some months, there was a national level competition in which runners from all over the nation were summoned there. Both were there. The race was about to start. They were in the same batch. When that batch was called, they went to the starting line. They were looking at each other’s eyes. It started after the shot. That time, it was not a Cheetah Vs Sheep race. It was Cheetah Vs Cheetah. And whoever had that surplus potential, would eventually make it to the finishing line. Guess, who had won that race? That struggling girl. Of course. She made it through the storms. She made it.
It doesn’t matter how good you are. There is always someone better than you who will beat you so that you can learn a lesson and be better than anyone.
I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.
